Alpha 1 Tactical, LLC founder and head instructor, Hermann Morris, comes from a family of avid hunters and outdoorsmen. As such, he has over 30 years of experience handling firearms. His initial foray into personal defense was through martial arts starting in his teens. He has trained in disciplines such as Muay Thai, boxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, MMA and self-defense systems like Krav Maga and SPEAR.

This passion for self-defense also led him to seek similar training with firearms, culminating in training under world-renowned instructors like Travis Haley, Raul Martinez Jr., and Max Joseph, and attending several courses in prestigious schools such as Haley Strategic, Front Sight, American Self Defense School, Fieldcraft Survival, and ZERT, among others.

Hermann has been teaching since 2010 and became a certified and insured firearms trainer in 2012. His biggest passion is sharing his knowledge with students of all levels. He subscribes to the belief that we never cease to be students, and as such, makes it a point to keep training in order to constantly improve upon what he offers his students. He recently completed a year-long mentorship program directly under world-renowned personal defense coach, Tony Blauer.

Hermann is a certified NRA Instructor for Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, Personal Protection In the Home, and Personal Protection Outside the Home as well as a Range Safety Officer. He is also licensed by the state of Arizona Department of Public Safety as a security guard firearms instructor. Additionally, he is an affiliate of Blauer Tactical Systems and certified as a SPEAR Defense™ instructor.
