Learn how to safely and effectively use a modern carbine. This is a formal class for which attendees who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate. This is a pre-requisite course for all subsequent carbine/rifle classes and practice sessions.

- Firearm safety
- Fundamental rifle concepts (height over bore, hold-overs, sighting, etc.)
- Basic function and manipulation of your firearm
- Proper stance and form
- Shooting from multiple positions
- Reload (emergency, tactical, administrative)
- Diagnosing and resolving stoppages
- Much more!
Required Gear
- Functioning and well maintained carbine (AR-15, AK47, or similar) in a case.
- Sling
- A minimum of 3 spare magazines.
- A minimum of 1 magazine pouch.
- Sturdy belt (shooter’s belt, rigger’s belt, etc.).
- At least 300 rounds of quality ammunition.
- Eye protection
- Ear protection (electronic is recommended).
- Close-toed shoes
- Hydration
- Snacks
Recommended Gear
- Hat
- Shemagh or other neck wrap to protect against sun and spent cartridges.
- Sunscreen
- War belt or chest rig
- Pants and long sleeve shirt.
- First aid kit/IFAK
