Most violent encounters happen at night or in low light environments. This course builds on the fundamentals learned in the Intro to Low Light course by introducing some more advanced drills as well as incorporating the carbine. Must have completed the Intro to Low Light course or equivalent as a prerequisite.

- Review of handgun and carbine shooting basics (stance, grip, sight alignment/picture, trigger press).
- Practical uses of a flashlight in self-defense situations.
- One-handed draw (pistol).

- Pistol- Diagnosing and clearing malfunctions one-handed.
- Rifle- using a weapons mounted light safely and effectively.

Required Gear
- Functioning and well maintained handgun in a case.
- Quality holster (IWB/OWB, non-Serpa) and a sturdy belt.
- Functioning and well maintained carbine in a case.
- A minimum of 2 spare magazines for each weapon.
- A minimum of 1 magazine pouch for each weapon.
- At least 150 rounds of quality pistol ammunition and 250 rounds of rifle ammunition.
- Handheld flashlight (even if you already have a weapons mounted light on your pistol).
- Weapon mounted light on rifle.
- Eye protection (clear)
- Ear protection (electronic is recommended).
- Close-toed shoes
- Hydration

Recommended Gear
- Hat
- Shemagh or other neck wrap to protect against sun and spent cartridges.
- Sunscreen (The first portion of the class might be done in daylight)
