DESCRIPTION:The shotgun is the most versatile firearm in existence. From personal defense\, hunting\, or sporting purposes\, the shotgun handles the largest variety of ammunition: bird shot\, buck shot\, slugs\, less than lethal\, and much more. This makes the shotgun an indispensable tool to any household. In this level 1 course we will teach you the ins and outs of your shotgun so that you are safe and proficient in its use for defensive purposes. \nTopics Covered \n\nFirearm safety\nFundamental shotgun concepts (loading\, sighting techniques\, applications\, ammo types\, etc.)\nBasic function and manipulation of your firearm\nProper stance and form\nShooting from multiple positions\nReload (emergency\, tactical\, administrative\, switching ammo)\nDiagnosing and resolving stoppages\nBasic maintenance\nMuch more!\n\nRequired Gear \n\nFunctioning and well maintained shotgun (pump action\, semi-auto\, break action\, etc.) in a case.\nSling\nSaddle and/or shell pouch. If magazine fed\, at least 2 extra magazines.\nSturdy belt (shooter’s belt\, rigger’s belt\, etc.).\nAt least 100 rounds of 00 buck and 10 slugs.\nEye protection\nEar protection (electronic is recommended).\nClose-toed shoes\nHydration\nSnacks\n\nRecommended Gear \n\nHat\nShemagh or other neck wrap to protect against sun and spent cartridges.\nSunscreen\nPants and long sleeve shirt.\nFirst aid kit/IFAK\n\nPLEASE DO NOT SHOW UP TO ANY EVENT IF YOU HAVE NOT REGISTERED AND BEEN IN CONTACT WITH SOMEONE FROM ALPHA1. \nANYONE WHO SHOWS UP UNANNOUNCED AND WITHOUT THE PRIOR APPROVAL OF AN INSTRUCTOR WILL BE TURNED AWAY. \nYOUR SPOT WILL NOT BE GUARANTEED UNLESS YOU ARE REGISTERED AND PAID AT LEAST 48 HOURS PRIOR TO ANY EVENT.
